Blacksmithing and Garden Sculpture course, one of three courses on offer for adults at the inaugural Traditional Heritage Craft Week, taking place at Bedales School from 8-12 July.

Our Blacksmithing and Garden Sculpture course is part of the Traditional Heritage Craft Week – Bedales School, 8-12 July

Discover the art of transforming steel and glass into a bespoke piece of garden sculpture with our Blacksmithing and Garden Sculpture course, one of three courses on offer for adults at the inaugural Traditional Heritage Craft Week, taking place at Bedales from 8-12 July.

Under the expert guidance of Lucille Scott of Little Duck Forge , you’ll complete a sculpture of your own design for your garden over five days, exploring the key skills required for working with glass and steel. You’ll create a piece of fused glass before moving onto blacksmithing techniques, learning how to draw down, upset, bend, twist, hot cut and punch using hand tools to bring your sculpture to life.

Open to all – whether you’re a current parent, former parent, Old Bedalian, friend of the school, or new to Bedales – this is an exciting opportunity to learn a comprehensive range of traditional craft skills from highly experienced professionals. Lucille will be supported throughout the course by fused glass artist Elisa Dodd and Little Duck Forge’s blacksmithing apprentice Martyna Ciucka.

Limited places are available, so don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in a heritage craft. To find out more about the course and book your place, follow the link
